SAM Shortline operates excursion trains on Fridays, Saturdays and select Mondays and Thursdays of each month. Special excursion trains run periodically during the months for special events and school outings. Please check the website for current runs.

The official beginning of the Southwest Georgia’s Excursion Train is at the depot in Cordele, Georgia.

While you are waiting for the train to depart, you can enjoy a cup of hot coffee and a pastry in the depot. Browse through our unique shop full of train toys and memorabilia.
